Hi.
I wonder if there's any way to get a node to follow another path or follow a node on another path?
for example: I make a path(1), and take a node from this path(1) and snap it to another path (2)
what I want to achieve are that when I move the second path(2) the snapped node(1) 'follows' the second path(2)('stays snapped' in a way... ).
If there's an solution, it would be great since this is a 'problem' that occurs to me daily.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
If I understand what you mean, you can do that by using the Node tool. Select the second path with the Node tool. Then do Ctrl A to select all the nodes. Then hold the Shift key while you click the first path, then still holding Shift, click node on the first path, that you want to move along with the 2nd path. This allows that node to be selected without deselecting the ones in the 2nd path. Now you can grab any of the selected nodes, and they will all move together.
Depending on the configuration of the nodes, you might be able to use the so-called rubberband selection, where you use the Node tool and draw a selection box around all the nodes to be moved. But if it's a complex path, the Ctrl + A and Shift + click might be better.
I'm not sure I understand though. Let us know if this is what you want. And if not, we'll try again

Re: make a node follow a path or node on another path.
Thank you for a quick reply and a warm welcome to the forum.
What you suggest only make the node(1) move in relation to the other nodes(2) and not to the curve to which it were snapped to. If I move the bezier handles to reshape the path(2), this does not effect the 'snapped' node(1).
Hope I am not too confusing.....

No worries, we'll figure it out, one way or another Could you show us an illustration? Or explain how you have been doing this that's been unsatisfactory?
Now what I think I understand, I don't think Inkscape can do. But I'm not sure yet, that I understand.
Do you want to drag the node along a curved path?
Well, no. If they are 2 separate paths, then nothing you do to one path will affect the other path. Snapping doesn't edit paths, it just moves them. It's used to align objects precisely. I thinking snapping may be a slightly different feature in other graphic programs, because often new Inkscape users expect snapping to permanently connect things together.
But I think an illustration will be helpful, if you can.
