Hi!

When I draw a shape with the pencil tool, a path effect "simplify" is always added to it (which I don't want). I can go back and remove this effect from the path effects menu, but was wondering how to set the tool so it doesn't add the effect to begin with. I have tried removing the effect from a shape, and setting the tool preferences to "take from selection", but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

You can switch that off. There is a button next to the smoothing slider (the squiggly line).
