I use the most recent version of Inkscape, which is 0.46_2 on Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2 with X11/XQuartz version 2.2.1.
Now what I tried to do is opening an EPS file , but there pops up a windows saying that this is not an error message, showing me the output of pstoedit like it would if invoked on the commandline without any arguments. Here the info in the window and below the information it gave
Code: Select all
Inkscape has received additional data from the script executed. The script did not return an error, but this may indicate the results will not be as expected.
pstoedit: version 3.45 / DLL interface 108 (build May 4 2008 - release build - g++ 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5465)) : Copyright (C) 1993 - 2007 Wolfgang Glunz
and after hitting ok it says it failed to load the EPS file :/. I already took a look in the extension-errors.log in the .inkscape folder in my home folder, but no error message for EPS. I thought at first that my version of pstoedit was too old, had 3.44 before and so I installed 3.45 today, and the result stays the same. There is an easy way of converting EPS files with either commandline tools or the Apple Preview app, but I just want to have it directly importable to Inkscape and would like to know what is going wrong. I hope someone else had the same problem and solved it already.
cheers,
wasd
PS: saving to EPS is no problem in Inkscape, but even opening the Inkscape created EPS files is not possible.
