LibreOffice Math - formula into Inkscape

Postby Grobe » Tue Apr 05, 2011 2:00 am

Hi.

I just found how to achieve this by using a workaround, sort of.
It's easy so I can spend a few minutes to tell.

Here's how to do:

In Math:
  1. Make your formula and save (for backup).
  2. Export into PDF.

In Inkscape
  1. Open (or create) a drawing where the formula shall stay.
  2. Create a new instance of Inkscape (referred as instance2 hereafter, as oposed to instance1 that contins the drawing).
  3. In Instance2 - FIle menu - Import pdf file.
  4. The whole contents in on place on canvas. Select it and Ungroup.
  5. Select the formula and copy.
  6. Shift to Instance 1. Important DO NOT CLOSE INSTANCE 2. Let it stay open until otherwise is mentioned!
  7. Select proper layer and paste it.
  8. You do now have a formula in your Inkscape document :D

Now you can close instance 2 ;)

Hey.

Thanks for the insight. This is a good tutorial on how to move an OpenOffice/LibreOffice graph into Inkscape.

Maybe a moderator can move this thread under tutorials?

:D

I'll copy it to Tricks and Tutorials, because it seems to fit in both categories :D
