Hi all,
I'm doing graphics for a game. I am working on one half of a sprite, and then creating a mirror of it for the other side. My life would be way easier if I could automatically mirror the work I'm doing on one side, over to the other. A lot of 3d modeling apps have this capability-- is there an easy way to do this in inkscape?
Right now I'm working on a half shape, duplicating it, flipping it horizontally, moving it over, joining nodes. This works okay for a simple shape, but already seems like a bit of a hassle. Once I have a lot of paths/layers overlaying I see this being a real pain. Just to preview the whole thing takes a few steps.
Am I missing a built in feature, or easier way of doing this? Is there an accepted process for this type of thing?
Mirror function? ( for game sprites )
Re: Mirror function? ( for game sprites )
If you need the nodes of both halves to be joined, I don't think you can do it. If you're happy to have both halves as seperate object you can clone the first half and flip. Using a clone will allow you to edit one half and have the other update automatically.

This is going to make things ALOT easier!
