Mathematical symbols

Postby Ged » Wed Oct 05, 2016 7:37 pm

Can someone help me get a 'division' symbol into my Inkscape picture please? I tried using the old 0247 trick but Inkscape didn't recognise. I had a hunt around glyphs too, but no luck. Any ideas please?

I'd use a font that has it, or create a symbol and use that:

(not my vid)
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

The Unicode code point for the 'DIVISION SIGN' symbol (aka “Obelus”) is U+00F7. To use this in Inkscape, use direct Unicode input as described in the manual: Ctrl+U 00F7

(The notification area in the status bar will display a live preview of the character represented by the Unicode values entered so far. You can quit Unicode input with the Escape key any time, or insert the represented character into the current text object and end Unicode input mode by pressing the Return/Enter key. Pressing the Space bar while in Unicode mode will insert the character into the current text object while keeping the special input mode active - e.g. to enter another Unicode code point.)
