I made this extension for my own use , and was curious if any one else would have a need for it .
This version is made to work in Inkscape.92, and uses Imperial measurements (feet, inches, fractions).
How it works:
select the Bezier tool.
While drawing a line, snap to points you wish to measure from.
When you are finished drawing your line, click apply.
The extension will measure between nodes, apply chosen scale, create dimensions, and erase your line.
If anyone is interested, I have some other extensions specifically for drawing architectural plans.
To install, load the inx file and py file into inkscape/share/extensions.
The directions are a PDF file, put them on your desk top and open them.

ragstian,
Yes, I do have a metric version. I need to update it for .92.
Give me a couple days and I'll post it here

brynn,
I'm just testing the water right now. If it looks like there is enough interest I will.
Can you post a group of extensions (like 5 or 6) there?

Re: [Extension] Architectural Dimensions
You could upload as many as you want. I guess it depends on how you have them packaged. You can only upload one file at a time on the website, so however many PY and INX files the extension contains, I guess you would zip them together.
If you have 5 or 6 and they are all related, you could still zip them all together in a structured way. Just explain in the description. Or you could upload them separately, if they aren't like children of the same parent, type of relationship.
I understand what you're saying about testing the waters. But just so you know, this forum isn't the only source of support for Inkscape. So the widest possible audience would probably be on the website. Of course it's up to you, but just to let you know
