I've just been sent a journal paper which has an image that I want to edit on one of the pages.
My supervisor has been able to open the journal on whichever page she chooses, import that page and edit it on Adobe Illustrator, but how do I do that on Inkscape?
She has sent me 4 types of files to open in Inkscape and these are .ai, .emf, .eps and .wmf and none of these will open in Inkscape and let me edit the page of the journal that I want.
Is it possible to even do this? Do I need to convert the files or open them a different way?
Thanks!
How do I import a file that I want to modify?

.ai=.pdf, if it wasn't created with an old version of illustrator.
Just rename the extension to pdf, and inkscape will open any chosen page of the file.
