Hi Friends,
I've just been happily working away on an image in Inkscape, when noticed an unusual display. Here's a link to a screen shot: http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/17/i ... gedcx0.png

Now 1st, please note that everything probably looks really big to most of you, because I use the 800 x 600 screen resolution, to help me compensate for some vision problems. I've also tweaked the size of other things individually, like the scroll bars, tool tips. So I know it looks big to you.

But notice the color wheel, it's twice the size I normally see it! The whole dialog is twice its normal size, although everything in it but the color wheel is normal sized. The color controls in the other tabs (HSL, etc.) are normal size. It's never happened before, and I have no idea what might have caused it. I haven't done anything unusual, or differently than I normally do it. I'm using 0.46, the last stable release, on Windows XP Home, SP 3.

And I'm posting this message to ask if it should be reported. Someone commented in another topic, some time ago, that it bothered them to get bug reports that are not reproducable, or if the cause is not known. But it seems to me things should be reported one way or another, otherwise, several people might be experiencing the same problem, but not report it, because they don't know what caused it. But if they had reported it, they might work together to gain more info about it.

So I'll do whatever you guys think is best. I have no reason to think it's ever going to happen again, and I fully expect it to disappear after closing and reopening Inkscape. What do you think I should do, report or not?

The color wheel takes up the maximum amount of space available. If you reduce the vertical or horizontal size of the Fill/Stroke palette the wheel will shrink.

Yeah, I understand that micro. But the color wheel in my screen shot, is the size it would be if I undocked it and maximized it. Yet it's docked, which it seems to me restricts its size. Oh geez, why didn't I think of this before. Here's the link to a screen shot with it as I normally see it:

I think big is beautiful

In your second screenshot the palette has less vertical hight so so the wheel is smaller. There's no bug here--I can make my wheel as big or as small as you've shown in your screenshot.

Um, no, I guess not.
Oh ok, I see what you mean now. I don't know how it got taller/longer, but apparently it somehow did!
