Hi, first post - sorry it's so dry,
I downloaded Inkscape just to unravel lines on a pdf graph that were obscuring each other. But it's such a beautiful piece of software, I was wondering if there's a way to get the numbers used to create the vectors of a line on a graph without me touching it up with GIMP and using Engauge Digitizer to get an answer?
Amazing piece of work in case, thanks and good luck.
Extracting data from graph vectors
Re: Extracting data from graph vectors
You can see the vector data used to create lines but I'm not sure if the format will be useful for your purposes.
To view the vector data (SVG format) select the line then open the XML Editor on the the command bar, 4th item from right hand side / ( Shift+Ctrl+X ). You can see the value pairs in the d attribute.

Thanks tomh,
I figured that would be the case - it's just sad that this particular graph was given jumbo lines to make it !easier to read! and the source isn't available, but Engauge does a great approximation anyway.
I should have said in the original post, it's on page 6 of this pdf: http://coast.gkss.de/staff/storch/pdf/S ... m20032.pdf
Thanks again.
