I want to download a suitable version of this software for Windows 7 Pro on a 32-bit PC. I have also installed XP Mode, the virtual machine that comes with W7 Pro. Ideally I would like the option to use Inkscape in both Win7 & WinXP as I may have to teach some students to create vector graphics. Win7 Pro is my preferred choice though.
Can you recommend a 'reputable' site? I looked on the Inkscape download page and was rather bewildered as to what I should download. Too technical for me.
I have found a website called Softonic but the download OS doesn't mention Windows 7, only goes as far as Vista.

Hi soapbox,
Welcome to InkscapeForum!
It's the green button on this page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/
Note, the above link is for version 0.48, but the next version 0.48.1 is due out any day.

Thanks for the welcome brynn,
I might wait. Or maybe I can just download the new one on top when it comes out?
