2D game art creation tutorials
I started writing some tutorials after endless questions on how to create things. I tried to go a 'non-artist' approach with the tutorials and explain vector art as 'building images rather than hand-drawing them'. Most of the tutorials will be based on inkscape and gimp.
(This is the first tutorial screen - starting with the basics.)
(This is a more recent and slightly more advanced one.)

I would love to get some feedback on the approach, style and topics of the tutorials - as well as suggestions what to cover (character creation, simple animations and effects will be covered). Thanks!

I'm following your tuts, they're great!
I am using them in my classes, I teach computering to 16 year old boys and I want them to do a very simple animation... your work helps me (and them) a lot!
Keep on!

Re: 2D game art creation tutorials
Hello Chris. This reply is for you. I went to your blog and checked out the baby chick tutorial. I had a little problem. The radial gradient I applied faded from orange in the center to white on the edges, instead of like yours which is the other way around. Can you help me with this?
Re: 2D game art creation tutorials
Hi.
Well I'm not Chris but may I answer:
Open the fill and stoke panel (Ctrl+Shift+F), go to the fill and then edit the gradient.
Set white where you have orange, and orange where you had white.
You can do that even outside this panel, by selecting the gradient steps handles and setting colours from the bottom palette.
