Postby md1 » Sun May 27, 2012 4:11 pm

Please say me how to work repeat operation work in inkscape.

-CorelDraw very well works previous operation like :-

(line draw with 5mm and angle 45 so every 45 angle till 360 new line crate with same angle and same mm )

-Not every time draw line. only one operation (clt+r) its called repeat operation.

I'm sorry to say that Inkscape does not have such a feature, at least not yet. I suspect it's probably been requested, but don't know for sure. Actually, I'll look.....

Ok yes https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/170131 As you can see, it's been much requested, and supported by many. I did not read through all the comments, so you might learn more by reading them, like for example, if a developer is working on it yet. You could also add your support for the new feature, if you want to, although you'd have to register at Launchpad to do it.

In some situations, you could use Tiled Clones dialog, to create many identical objects. If you don't want them to be clones, you could Unlink after you create them. I realize that's not a perfect solution, and won't work in all situations (especially if the thing you want to repeat is not creating objects). But sometimes it's helpful.

I don't understand exactly what you are describing. Or maybe that's just an example? But it does sound something like a radially tiled clone. If that's what you want to do, you can find info in Help menu > Inkscape manual, and Tutorials > Tips and Tricks, about how to do it.

In other situations, using a keyboard shortcut is helpful in repeating the same thing. For example Path Offset or moving selections to another layer.

I hope this feature can be added relatively soon, because I know a lot of people would find it helpful (including me) :D
