I may not be a total power Inkscape user, but I have been using it for some years now and know my way around the functions I use.
One of them is aligning objects in a project. (one of the most basic of functions that everybody should know about)
Till a few days ago I had no problems with it but over the last days the align function has started to act wacky
Difficult to define and I have not gone into it to see if there is some systematic problem here but suffice to say there is a problem
I use Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939 and Win7 64bit (not quite sure if inkscape is 64 bit though)

I have been using this version for some time and there have been no updates to windows that could point to the source of the problem.
I have tried different files, and in fact files that I know inkscape aligning worked fine.

Anyone having this problem as well?
Any ideas?

You may accidentally switched the drop down menu at the top of the align and distribute panel.

Now I do feel like an idiot
I had checked the "Treat all selected as group"
This creates some strange behaviour if you are not wanting it and now aware of this behaviour.
