Format of SVG

Postby zdenekrejci » Thu Aug 04, 2016 5:50 am

Hi there please could someone help with following?
Iam using inkspace for creating pictures for my CNC. I am trying to create Hershey text and upload it to http://makercam.com/
the page can calculate the text as traces.
The makercam works fine I have used it already some time and also inkspace but not with hershey text.

THe problem is that when I upload the svg to makercam its kind of shrinking or cuting the space between the letters so the overlay eachother.

But wher I do the same with normal text and convert it to lines it ok...

Thank you

I don't know if this will help, but at least it is another way around to create the Hershey font which work better for my purpuses and with smoother lines. I made a single-line true type version of the Hershey font to use it for my plotter (Silhouette cutter with pen). True type font need to be closed lines so there will be straight lines that should be removed. To do that automagically you find the Inkscape extensions and the explanations howto here.
