Filesize

Postby MagicMan » Fri Jul 26, 2013 4:53 am

Hello...first post here...fairly long time Inkscape user...but i'm COMPLETELY stumped.

I started a new file, imported a JPG and saved the file...it saved as 4MB....I traced the outline of a part of the picture, and deleted the JPG, and then saved it again....the file remained at 4MB. I have tried this with both linking and embedding the jpg....and there is no difference.

For some strange reason, the file becomes EXTREMELY slow to edit....it takes like 10 seconds to allow me to select anything...another 5-10 to refresh each time i change anything...it's unbearable!!

Why do files go insanely slow....and they're not that complex....the outline is pretty simple....

I'm running a Macbook Pro with 8GB of RAM...shouldn't be this slow at all!

Hi.
We cannot really tell what happened if you don't show us the original svg.
But more than that inkscape cannot handle available hardware capabilities up-to date.
It could be slow on any machine.

hi Magicman,
This issue not any system regarding like RAM (any computer configuration) this issue generated on only INKACPE software because of some time Ink scape couldn't release memory itself.that way some times crash or in freeze mode in ink scape. that time check CPU usage around 100% or above
Thanks
