The first, Inkscape is very good software, I like it.
The main limitations in Inskcape for me is, when I export objects with gradients (without transparency) to EPS file, that Inkscape rasterize the gradients. In my opinion it is the biggest limitation in Inkscape for me. When I need pure vector in EPS file – I must fill objects only with pure colors, no with gradients. It is very bad.

Don't feel bad it rasterizes them in all export formats. There is a bug in exporting a display gradients in inkscape. It's discussed some in this thread:

I think something another - no fluent of gradient, but rasterizing them. But that thread is mine, too
