Hey everybody,
I'm new to inkscape and had a question for all of the pros out there. I am getting into CNC plasma cutting and I am using sheetcam for me CAD/design program. I am very familiar with AutoCAD and usually do drawings on there. IMO, AutoCAD is not as artsy as inkscape. I am having tremendous issues trying to import .dxf drawings from AutoCAD into inkscape. Does anybody here have experience going from ACAD to Inkscape? If not, can anybody look at a sample file I have from AutoCAD and tell me if this is something you could easily create with inkscape? I really appreciate it. I am beginning to think I'm going to need to learn inkscape and forget about ACAD. I hope not, but that is the gist I am getting. Thanks for the help. Below are my files. Sorry they are in PDF files. I couldn't put an attachment in a .dxf format. Thanks for looking.
Andy

Welcome aboard!
There are certain differences between the cad approach and inkscape's.
Like, inkscape is mostly using paths to cover circular arcs (arc segments are being implemented for 0.92...) which is not that precise as a cad softwares on the calculations, BUT its way more precise after a conversion -autocad tend to convert circles to straight line segments and whatnot.
I'd say it is possible redrawing those in inkscape relatively easily.
On the attachments -you can upload any format if you zip it first.
