[solved] un-editable lines in a map.

Postby yozzarian » Thu Sep 15, 2016 10:05 am

I am working with maps. I have this set of convoluted lines I want to edit and I can't find a way to ungroup / uncombine ... whatever is needed to get to one specific line and edit it.

Also, despite the large number of lines, the XLM editor gives quite a simple description for the object:

Code: Select all

height   796
id      use9554
style      stroke:#646464;stroke-width:1;stroke-miterlimit:4;stroke-opacity:1;stroke-dasharray:none
transform   matrix(1.1,0,0,1.1,135.28757,-290.60921)
width   673
x      0
xlink:href   #2
y      0

What am I missing? What is happening here?

Thanks.

The clue is:
id use9554

There is probably something in the defs that defines the path.

Please upload the file and we can try to get it sorted.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Maybe a clone or a symbol. Try unlinking it (Shift+Alt+D).

Shift+Alt+D did it. Thanks a lot.
