Hi all,
I'm new to Inkscape and am using it to create some vector art. Since I'm more versed in GIMP I've created a graphic there, but need to make it into an .SVG, which GIMP doesn't allow you to do. Hence the use of Inkscape.
However, I'm confused. When I go into Inkscape I see both Import and Open options, of which the window that pops up looks exactly the same. Which is the proper was to open something from GIMP? Will either work fine?
Thanks!!
Robert
Using Open vs. Import for bringing files into Inkscape
Re: Using Open vs. Import for bringing files into Inkscape
If you have an existing SVG drawing and want to bring something in to it, use import.
Using open will open that file as a new drawing.

What file format are you trying to open? If it's a raster image you can use Import, although it will still be a raster image unless you vectorize it.
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt
