While doing a Google search, I ran across this 1 year+ old thread over at the Inkscape Wiki regarding cool CAD-like dimensioning and measuring tools.

The end of the thread said those features was planed for, but I haven't been able to find any newer information or progress reports about it.
Is it still in the works? Has it been released? What's the relationship between Inkscape and the "2geom" library mentioned in that link?
Dimensioning tool... any progress?

No, dimensions can only be added with an exsisting extension right now. No further work mentioned in the wiki was done.
