Hello!
Please, forgive my unperfect english
I can not hook a shape to gride or to guidelines.
Indeed, for example: I make a square, if I modify the dimensions, dragging the cursors, the sides of the shape snap to the grid automatically.
But if I want to modify the square for a second time, I cannot catch the sides, or the points, to grid or guidelines automatically.
Practically, I can catch the shape to grid/guidelines automatically only once, then it's no longer possible.
Nevertheless I checked in "property" in menu FIle and setting of coupling is activated.
I use Inkscape 0.48.4 on ubuntu 13.04.
How i can solve this problem?
Thank you!
Bye bye

Re: Inkscape coupling problem
You can set several option for the snapping.
Enable snapping to guide lines, and bounding box/cusp nodes, that should do the trick.

Hello:
I have inkscape 0.48.4 in windows 7. I don't see the problem: I just draw a rect with the respective tool and it snaps to the grid, every time.
My setup is:
In Inkscape Preferences (Shif+ctrl+P):Snapping:
In Document properties (Shift+Ctrl+D):

Based on
Please read the following detail in the release notes for Inkscape 0.48.4:
-> Due to an unintended change of the snapping behavior in the latest bug-fix release Inkscape 0.48.4, it is now required to activate additional snap targets in order to be able to snap nodes e.g. to the grid or to guide lines when transforming (scaling, moving, etc) with the select tool.

So, if i understood fine I have to enable "snap cusp nodes" and/or "snap smooth nodes" too. Ok?
Where are these two options?
Thanks!
