i installed inkscape 0.91 on my win 8.1 laptop but i am unable to uninstall it

i ran an uninstall but the program still comes up when i click the desktop icon

but also the program does not now show up when i click control panel > programs and features

i also tried reinstalling on top of the existing, and ran the uninstall again, but same result, it still triggers but it's not visible under programs and features

how can i fully uninstall it?

After reading your question I come up with two options:
1. Locate Program folder of Inkscape open that scroll down and locate Uninstall.exe double click on it and follow the guidance.
2. I have learned that in some cases we can not delete installed programs or even we can not clean un-install to solve that I found Revo Uninstaller a free ware. It is very helpful tool. During uninstall before click NEXT read the guidance slowly and then follow what you are suppose to do. Surely you will like this free tool.

PS* if you still could not locate your Inkscape program to uninstall in that case re-install then use Revo Uninstaller. In my case when I want to un-install inkscape it ask me if I want to keep preference settings or delete everything. If you got some settings of yours better keep that if not then delete it.

there is no Uninstall.exe file, nuthin

i'll give it a go but i already use iobit's uninstaller which has worked very well over the years but i'll try revo

i did a full re-install, all options, but there is still no uninstall.exe file

i looked in other locations like Program Files (x86) but it's not there either

You are facing strange problem I wonder if you did download the inkscape form their website https://inkscape.org/en/download/

Do you find all the Inkscape files in Program Files (or Program Files (x86))? Do you mean that Inkscape still opens and runs normally?

Usually when I uninstall something, it takes the desktop icon away. So if you still have the icon, and it still opens Inkscape, it was not uninstalled....clearly.

When you say you "ran an uninstall" what exactly did you do? Did you use Programs and Features to uninstall? Or did you use uninstall.exe? Hhmm....yes, I see, there is no uninstall.exe for 0.91. And neither does 0.91 appear in the Start menu (where there usually is an uninstall link)!

I might guess that uninstall.exe was removed (by developers), because it was not working properly in previous versions. I think I read where someone either is fixing it, or was working on it. But that doesn't help here.

I suppose something like restarting your system won't restore Inkscape to Programs and Features?

Maybe you could use System Restore, if it hasn't been too long since this problem started?

Hi, sorry for hijacking your conversation with other user. I did it because you said

I checked in the Program folder there is uninstall.exe version 0.91.0.1 375 KB. Could it be because of 32 bit windows vista?

I'm on Windows 7, 64-bit and I have Inkscape 0.91, both 32- and 64-bit installed. There's no uninstall for the 64-bit version. But there IS uninstall.exe for the 32-bit version. Unless I have them mixed up, and it's the other way around.

Ooohh! That's because the 64-bit version I got was the 7z version, which I guess zip files aren't really "installed". I used the exe installer for the 32-bit version, and that's why it does have uninstall.

If the op "installed" a 7z version, as far as I understand, those can just be deleted. But if he used the exe installer, he should use uninstall, to get rid of.
