Re: Tell me about yourself introduction?
Hello . . .
Im a Registered Architect, AIA ... currently living and working in Santa Fe, NM, USA
Like most architects, I had been using Windows for many, many a year.
My primary work-related Windows Programs were AutoCAD and Lotus 123 or CorelDraw ... for doing architectural drawings and renderings.
I converted to Linux last year ... I mean, I totally converted to Linux and Open Source.
I have found several usable CAD program as a replacement for AutoCAD ... and for renderings I have been trying to find a good art program.
I've tried GIMP, Blender and finally, have decided to learn all I can about Inkscape. I find Inkscape easier to use than 'those' other Art/Vector applications.
There is a big 'hoop-la' about Ubuntu "dropping" GIMP from being included in the next LTS version.
Most people don't know how or use more than 5% of what GIMP is capable of.
I will be working on and posting my Inkscape stuff ... mostly for all to see, on DeviantART.

Hi, I am a newbie trying to learn all I can about cutting
Hi, I am a newbie trying to learn all I can about the world of cutting. I just recently got a Roland Camm1 960 with a heat press I bought. I have downloaded the driver to be able to use it with my Windows XP computer. I also downloaded the Dr. Stika Plus program. I got the cutter to do the test cut but can't seem to get it to cut my text from the Dr. Stika program. I don't know for sure if I even have the Roland driver completely installed. I am not too computer savy sometimes. Can anyone advise me as to what to do. The cutter did great on the test cut so I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vickycarol
