I started playing around with Inkscape sometime in 2006 and started this particular project in 2007 if I recall correctly.
This was like everything I seem to do, boredom induced. This is what I did with low resolution pics and it remained like that for a long time. Then last year I found a gem.
I started redoing it with that nice high resolution picture and here's the current situation.

Center stone
Outer rims, constellations are done, just not shown. Only hieroglyphs still under progress.
Repeating glyph, looked like crap in the old version, much better now.

I never got into Stargate, but that's very nice work on the reproduction. Very detailed.
