Watching some video tutorials I have seen that there are new Live Path Effects:

but in my inkscape 0.48.1 on windows vista i have only this LPE:



Where can i find this LPE and how can install it on Windows and Linux?

These are not new but experimental LPEs (some are unstable, some under development, some abandoned, etc.) - they are disabled by default, and to enable them, you have to be able to build (i.e. configure, compile and install) inkscape yourself on your platform from the sources (you need to uncomment a line of code [1] before building, to enable them).

[1] edit the file 'src/live_effects/effect.cpp' and uncomment line #8.

@~suv, thanks...i don't touch this file because i'm not able. Some of these LPEs will be included and enabled on Inkscape 0.49?

(with great ignorance I thought that I could download these effects as the extensions .py / .inx)

@Brynn, I drew flourish and I have applied "create tiled clones"
[*] Edit=>Clone=>Create Tiled Clones
[*] Hit the reset button then enter the number of nodes in your polygon (N) for "Rows" and 1 for "Columns"
[*] Set "Shift Y" in the "Per Row" column to -100% in order to make all the clones appear on top of each other
[*] Set the "Per Row" rotation to 360/N
[*] Hit the Create button

In short, nobody knows. They were implemented as part of a new Geometry Constructions tool (here is a video). The tool was never finished, and some of those effects do not make a lot of sense when used without it. Whether the tool will be resurrected, noone can tell.

I hope will be resurrected, in your video i see that this tool is very interesting.
