Entering Japanese text

Postby Patrushka22 » Sat Nov 21, 2009 6:33 pm

I'm trying to input Japanese text in a document with odd results. When I type, the Japanese characters appear in the top left corner of the page (overtopping the File and Edit menu), but when I hit Return, the characters appear as squares in the document, just like typing looked before I installed the East Asian language pack. Any ideas?

Isn't a Latin font set by default ?
how about, let's try set default your 2bite fonts at text/font menu.

I searched all over the text and font section, but I couldn't find how to change to 2 byte font. Some of the font families type in strange characters, but none of them are Japanese. Is one of the fonts listed a 2 byte font?

Hi

If you have not japanese fonts, you can download a free famous Japanese font, mikachan.ttf (like handwriting, win only).

sample is

You need set Regional and Language in Control Panel of WindowsXP, and Microsoft IME in Keyboard layout/IME.

Is this your help?
Good luck.
