UBUNTU

Postby Zundap » Sat Oct 16, 2010 8:49 am

Hi, could anyone please tell me if inkscape works with ubuntu 10.10. If it does are there any known problems between the two. Thanks.

I don't know about 10.10 but I use Inkscape 0.48 and 0.48 devel (I compile it every time I can) on Kubuntu 10.04 and never had problems with previous releases of Kubuntu. It works also like a charm on two old Pentium IV and Ubuntu 10.04 I installed some months ago at an association office.

It's not better. It's a question of personal taste. Personally I feel more comfortable with KDE graphic environment (which is the Kubuntu one) than with Gnome which is the Ubuntu environment. In KDE you can easily draw your own icons (with Inkscape for example) and resize them very precisely. Working alternatively with the two environments, I find KDE a little bit more responsive on my computer.
