Converted to png - Blurry?
Converted to png - Blurry?
How do I prevent blurring of objects that I wish to be converted into png?
Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
Can you give a more specific example? Did you export your drawing to png and it was blurred while in Inkscape it wasn't?
As far as I can tell exporting to png works as expected.

Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
Whenever I convert an image to PNG it becomes blurred, in Inkscape it's crystal sharp, yes.
Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
I've never heard of that happening before. Could you show us an example (SVG file + PNG exported from it)?
Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
What you could do is this if your inkscape image is for ex. 50 x 50 you could export it as 52 x 52 and then take a bitmap editor such as the Gimp and scale it down to 50 x 50 and you will have a crisp image.

Agreed. Any resizing of an image (larger or smaller) will only make it less crisp if anything. But when resizing by 2 pixels you'll probably find that Gimp will simply delete two rows and columns of pixels from the image, rather than resample it.
Otherwise, an image like would end up like
Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
I export 3 times bigger then scale it down and it's ok.

It may not look worse than an image exported at the intended size, without close scrutiny it may look identical, but it can't be better (in terms of cisp-ness).
Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
i had the same problem, and i'm a newbie to all this stuff, so please excuse the simplicity of my reply. i found that it helped to make sure that i was exporting from the "Selection" tab, and that the image was the size that i wanted it to be in my project, so there would be no resizing after the export. i think i messed things up by fiddling with the export settings one time. i'm still not sure that i have things set right, but it seems to be okay if i don't resize after.
Re: Converted to png - Blurry?
To keep text from becoming blurry when exporting to PNG:
File> Inkscape Preferences> Import/Export> Specify "Default export resolution" as 300 dpi.
