Broken PLT/HPGL lines after export

Postby nicholaswmin » Thu May 02, 2013 2:53 am

Hey guys!

I seemed to have run into a problem with Inkscape and also CorelDraw export to HPGL.
I have SVG polygons with very, very high node counts. 8000 nodes and upwards in some cases.

When i export them to HPGL and open them up, i seem to get broken paths. The paths are there but in some places the nodes are not connected.

Do you have any idea why this happens? It must be some restriction on HPGL specification, but that is just a guess.

Thanks!

Interesting! Are you able to reproduce this behaviour using a polygon with a much lower node count? That way you could try to figure out any special properties of the nodes causing the problem (e.g. cusp nodes versus smooth nodes).

You could also try to post both the SVG and the HPGL files as an attachment on this forum (you might have to archive/zip the HPGL file first, since the forum does not accept all file formats), then I'll have a look at it.
