Hi folks,
A bit of background: I create (by hand) intricate line drawings, scan them & then vector trace the scanned image. My work is b&w.
When I go to save an SVG file in illustrator (CS6) I'm given loads of options. I'm a little confused (still learning!). I really want to be able to transfer work between illustrator and inkscape without too much fuss. Remember, I'm not using multiple layers, fonts, colors etc.
Any help/insight much appreciated!

Re: saving svg in illustrator, transferring to inkscape
I usually save pdf-file from illustrator.
Get better results than saving as svg.
And drag pdf-file straight into inkscape.
Give it a try.

Couldn't you "vector trace" them in Inkscape from the start, and not use Illustrator?
