I'm using V.46 and notice that when I delete an auto smooth node, that the nodes on both sides of it will change to corner nodes. I can't figure out why that would happen (it's annoying), it happens every time. It's just frustrating because when working on circular designs I routinely select all nodes, change to auto smooth, then delete the ones that I don't need, it takes a lot of time to have to go in and change them back to auto smooth. Is there a logical reason for this and is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
thx

Nodes Change When Deleting Auto Node
Re: Nodes Change When Deleting Auto Node
When deleting nodes in Inkscape, Inkscape tries to preserve the overall shape of the path. It does this by changing the two nodes around the one you delete.
If you don't want the two nodes around the ones you delete to change then you can use the keyboard short cut: ctrl+Delete or ctrl+Backspace.

Re: Nodes Change When Deleting Auto Node
In 0.48, there's an option in Inkscape Preferences to change this.
Basics - Help menu > Tutorials
Manual - Inkscape: Guide to a Vector Drawing Program
Inkscape Community - Inkscape FAQ - Gallery
Inkscape for Cutting Design
