any option to start Inkscape maximized ?

Postby secarica » Wed Jul 14, 2010 4:08 pm

Is there a program preference, or a command line parameter at program launch, that force Inkscape to start maximized ?

You're talking about the document opening at 100% zoom? No, there's no setting to control that.
If you're talking about the entire Inkscape window, mine always opens maximized. I don't know if this is still the case, but I noticed several years ago, that however the window was when I last closed it, is how it opens. So if it was maximized when I closed it, it opened max. But if it was the Restore size when I closed it, it opened at the Restore size.

If it IS the canvas you're talking about, there is a way to set up your default doc (which is what opens when you start Inkscape) with whatever preferences you want. Please see this topic for info: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=162

I am speaking about normal program open, with no additional task.

In Windows, by clicking the desktop icon or the shortcut in start menu. But I was curious and tested this also in Fedora 13: worked the same, Inkscape opens in reduced size window (live CD, .rpm install, no other task other than simply opening the program).

Edit: will try the default.svg way. Thank you for pointing that.

Inkscape Preferences (Shift+Ctrl+P) <Windows> check <remember and use last window's geometry>
as long as you quit Inkscape Maximized it will relaunch Maximized.

All the preference are stored in the file preferences.xml located on:
>Linux at ~/.inkscape/ (v0.46) or ~/.config/inkscape/ (v0.47)
>Windows at %userprofile%\Application Data\Inkscape\.
There are alot of preferences, some undocumented, and are accessible only by hand-editing the preferences.xml file.

Unfortunately, the command line options do not show this max window option in the on-line manual

there is also a full screen mode (F11)

I face same problem but if you talk about the document which is 100% open in your window then there is no option for you.you must have to restart the work
