Greetings All,

I need a logo for my astronomy art projects and mocked up a "trees and star" design (shown below).

Some of my artist and graphic-arts friends who have seen it told me it's lame, but they are not available to help me improve it (I have no free-hand artistic skills).

Could anyone here:

1) Refer me to a source of public-domain or reasonably-priced licensable vector artwork suitable for reworking my logo?

2) Create a new logo for me from scratch for a reasonable fee?

I'm not an artist or graphic artist either. So 1 - I would not comment on the quality of what you've done, and 2 - I couldn't draw one for you.

I do know that all the images in the Open ClipArt Library contain the Creative Commons license, which I think means you can use them. But PLEASE read through it, to be sure. It may be only restricted to personal use....I'm just not sure . But I do know there's some great clipart there!

You could try out logobogo, the artists create logos and banners for either a DONATION or FREE. Depends on what size your graphic request is and if you want the source graphic file (i.e., .svg, .ai, .eps, etc). Please see the sites rules and guidelines for details before posting your request.

Brynn: thanks for the link. I searched for "trees," found hundreds, but actually I think the trees in my mock-up are not so bad in comparison because they are abstract enough to remain distinctive even at low resolution.

You might try searching "tree logo" to eliminate all those "real" type of tree images.
