How to copy a figure from a pdf document

Postby adhikarig » Fri May 09, 2008 7:53 am

Hi friends

I am trying to copy a figure from a pdf document. I already copied a number of figures from different pdf documents. But this time when i copy that figure from the pdf document, i can save in a separate file with .svg format. but when i try to save that in .pdf format it shows only a black box of the same size.
I need that figure in pdf bcoz i am using pdflatex to write my thesis.

could you please help me out fromthis situation...

It might be that the figure is using a feature that Inkscape isn't able to properly convert to PDF. I can't remember which features don't work properly when saved as PDF - I think maybe clips, and definitely transparent gradients.

Examine your figure and see if you can simplify it. Other than that, I would need to see the SVG myself to determine what is going wrong.
