Hi,
it is a bug that the shell is leaving after every command i type in?
It says "Inkscape 0.91 r13725 interactive shell mode. Type 'quit' to quit." but quits after every command!

Re: inkscape.com --shell
Hello,
I have a similar result here in Ubuntu-Linux.
If you put any string of text, inkscape doesn't recoginize it and quits. It would be better if only gives an error message and STAYS in shell mode.
But have you tried something more... emmm... "structured" ?... like:

Re: inkscape.com --shell
Hi,
my problem was the interactive shell looks needing escaped chars like \\ for example.
That is unexpected and bad behave for an interactive shell.

Hello
I understand that at the end you now have a sort of "workaround"
In my system (ubuntu) I note - and I don't know if it's related - directories which have spaces in their names, in the command line they appear with "\" instead of space bar.
Have you checked if it is a knowing bug in Inkscape ' s Launchpad?

This is all a bit over my head, but there's some faq info about the command line. Maybe some info can be found from here: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#How_ ... mmand_line
