Where do I start?
Where do I start?
I was planning on learning how to use Inkscape since I was unable to purchase the Adobe Creative suite. I downloaded The Gimp 2.4 as well. Where do I start as a beginner. I am a freelance web and graphic designer and I will be unable to design certain things without the use of a vector based program. I heard Inkscape is an amazing program that has the ability to perform as well as the top dollar software that is out on the market. So I have taken the opportunity to dedicate some time in my day to learn these two programs Inkscape and Gimp, but I don't know where to start or what will be best for me to start. Could anyone help a super beginner?

Re: Where do I start?
Under the Help->Tutorials there are a number of tutorials to get you started. You can also look at the websites mentioned here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2
Re: Where do I start?
Wait, where is the help? Did you mean on Inkscape.org?
Re: Where do I start?
No, he means open Inkscape and look at the tutorials in the 'help' menu at the top.
Also, check out:

Thanks. I plan on doing a lot with this program. What are some good references for making a logo?

If you are going to be printing your work you might like to investigate what formats your printers will accept before making Inkscape your choice of tools.
