Hi All,
I've been using Inkscape for over a year...am not technically advanced, but have been making it work for my very basic purposes.
I have several files that I manipulate frequently using "Ungroup." At some point yesterday I started being unable to ungroup any of these. Whenever I try, I get a message at the bottom of my screen saying "No groups to ungroup in the selection."
Since these are all files I have ungrouped in the past, it seems like I must have accidentally changed something that is now preventing me using this feature. I don't know what I might have done...
...can anyone help?
Thanks!

Re: Help with "No groups to ungroup in the selection"
Hi.
Haven't seen ungrouping not work itself, maybe it is something with the file.
Are all layers unlocked?
Are all objects unlocked?
What does the indication bar say when you select the object you want to ugroup?
Is that a raster image?
Or something with a pattern fill?
Or a clone?
Or... who knows, sharing a problematic file could make it easier sorting out the problem.

Re: Help with "No groups to ungroup in the selection"
If you see that message, that there are no more groups to ungroup, it is only referring to the current selection. Not everything on the canvas. There still may be other groups in the file.
If you need to do a lot of ungrouping, you culd try Ctrl A (Select All) and then ungroup until there are no more groups. Or there's an extension that will do it automatically, if you were to have hundrds of groups.
Yes, if you could share the file, (or if you can't share it, maybe make up an example file that shows the problem) we wouldn't have to guess.
