There are so many new features in 0.47. One of my favorites is the new snapping toolbar that handles endpoint, midpoint, and intersection snapping (and snapping to centers of circles among other things). How handy is that?

Oh yeah snapping, I would be ecstatic even if that was the only new feature

And the snapping is sensitive to where you grab the object! That is sooooooo awsum. You can snap with turbo precision now, I already use it heavily, it's a huge usability plus for Inkscape

I thought I seen somewhere that it will have the ability to use brushes or mimic bitmap brushes so to speak. Is that correct?

That may be live path effects applied to Pen and Pencil tools, where you choose a shape that is to be applied to the line you draw. Is this what you thought about?

Ack they changed snap up completely in the developers build. I just got used to the old snap! Where is snap to rotation center? I never use bounding box snap, but is it gone? Do only nodes snap now? How about snap to intersections? Was I the only one using snap to rotation center? Or will there be a new special node for rotation center?

Snapping in dev build has more features than ever! There is a snap to rotation center, there is also snap to center of object, midpoints of line segments, midpoints of bounding box edges... Can't you see the fabulous snapping toolbar? No need to open document properties to change snapping options

Yeah, it is a bit more cluttered now. Still, it's all beta at teh moment.
