Why do objects jump out of layers

Postby oladitan » Fri Jun 15, 2018 1:52 am

Hello. I have a layer nested inside of a layer. I am trying to work in the nested layer. When editing objects in the nested layer (breaking nodes, joining nodes) the edited objects will jump out of the nested layer. How can I stop this? Thanks.

Hhmmm, are you talking about actual layers or sub-layers, which you can find in the Layers dialog, or Objects dialog? Or are you referring to objects which are stacked on top of each other on the canvas?

Could you show us an example of what you're talking about? I can't quite imagine what you mean.

My best guess is that if you join nodes of 2 paths, which are in different layers, then they become one path. So that one path can now only exist on one layer. So one of the original paths, by definition, must be moved into the layer of the other original path.

If that doesn't help, then some kind of example would help us to understand.
