Dear friends !
Im experimenting with tiled clones.
Here im rotating a gradient ring by 8% and scale it at the same time on the x-axis by 10%.
I discovered a really beautiful effect once i reversed the z-order with the Restack extension.
Now im wondering: is there a way to get this reversed z-order directly through the tiled clones dialogue ?
tiled clones and z-order
Re: tiled clones and z-order
did you try starting with the large one and reversing the scale (90.91%) and making the rotation negative (maybe not necessary unless you want exactly the same)
Your mind is what you think it is.

Dear Druban,
this doesnt work.
I dont want to re-engineer what i got, i need to reverse the z-order with the tiled clones dialogue, so i can explore the beautiful effects directly.
Is this possible ?

Julia, isn't this what Druban suggested? The instructions are for the tiled clones dialog...

I think Druban means this:
This generates without restack. If you don't care for anticlockwise rotation, you can flip them all afterwards.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Re: tiled clones and z-order
If you are trying to get each new clone to go under the last one there is no way to do that. Inkscape always creates new objects on top of older objects. If you want to just "play" within the TC dialog to see what you get and want that option it is not available within that dialog.
Inkscape is a versatile and powerful program but not exactly one of those "try things just to see what comes out" deals. Rather you learn the tools and then use them to execute a design or plan if that makes sense?
When I teach kids to use CG I try to get them to design on paper and then figure out how to execute that design in the program. This is a more efficient and creative approach IMO - not, "What can I do with this program", but "HOW can I do this thing I want with this program"
