Can anyone tell me how (or possibly point me to a video) that shows how to do animation in Inkscape.

I'd like to have a picture that flashes something like "Click Here"

Or "Join our Group Now"

Or something like that.

There are no tools for doing animation (yet), but if you want to get coding you can try adding in animation yourself. Have a look here for a tutorial on how to do this. I don't think SVG animation is supported in the current Firefox, but there is a fix for it and I think it's going to be supported in Firefox 3.5
