Hi, im a very happy inkscape user that has been using inkscape
heavily for over a year now.
basically, i was wondering if there will be a release of inkscape for webOS which looks like it will be running on the
upcoming hp tablets released later this year?
Or otherwise, is it possible that since webOS is built on top of a linux structure that the linux version of inkscape
may run?
I've had a good search around google and on the forums but cant seem to find anything pointing to even a
vague answer.
Opinions and facts welcomed with open arms!
Inkscape for webOS
Re: Inkscape for webOS
Short answer: NO!
Some info:
Porting a program to any platform is hard work. It relies on the core technology that the program uses being available on that platform (in Inkscape's case, mainly GTK ).
You may want to have a look at Inkscape's Mac-OS port for some info in the difficulties experienced with that port. There is still not an official 'native' version for Mac-OS due to the effort involved.
The more the platform deviates from a normal 'desktop' the harder it gets, and mobile phone platforms (which is basically what WebOS is) are far from the mainstream desktop.
