Problem e-mailing a logo

Postby ABITCONFUSED » Sun May 09, 2010 4:18 am

I guys! I created a Logo for someone and sent it via e-mail. The attachment is rejected by the client's e-mail security features because It thinks its a virus or something. It also says that attachments that ends with .Ink are automatically blocked. Is there a trick about sending vector created images by e-mail? A tutorial on the subject would be great. Thanks :?

Inkscape deals with SVG files so the extension is .svg. Is that also blocked?

SVG is a simple text file it shouldn't give you any problems. Maybe you can rename it by adding .txt at the end so you get file.svg.txt and your recipient removes the .txt bit?

You can host the file somewhere on the web and just send a link to it.

if it was a lnk then you just sent the shortcut to the image, and not the svg file itself.

Yes it seems to me that you might have clicked and dragged into your email program so that it created a link instead of the actual svg file. Perhaps this is why the email server doesn't like it ... they don't normally like links. Use the attach button in your email program and find the file through there. This would be the best way.
