help with connecting a cutter to INKSCAPe

Postby piscvau » Sat Oct 14, 2017 12:17 am

Hello
I struggled several days to get my GCC I-craft to work with INKCUT. I tried to cut several things with INKCUT and encountered many problems.
After digging a little bit into this forum I discover that INKCUT is no longer developed and that another extension export/plotter is now available. So I am now trying to get this GCC-Icraft cutter connected to the new extension.

GCC I-craft is sowewhat similar to the silhouette portrait. It is connected to my XUBUNTU 16.04 machine on a USB port.
When trying to use the export/plotter extension I get into the connexion parameters and I see that only COM1 is available . What should I do since the plotter is connected through USB port?
Also I am not sure about the resolution of the cutter.
The documentation says mechanical resolutions 0.05mm If I take this information it would lead to a 508 ppp resolution.I inch is 2.54 cms. Is that correct?
Any help would be welcomed.

FYI, the serial port issue was the reason I had mentioned, in the other topic, that people were having trouble with Inkcut.
