pencil from heathenx tutorial

Postby llogg » Sun Feb 01, 2009 2:00 am

Here's the pencil I did based on heathenx's great new screencast. The idea to use interpolate to get a conical gradient was strictly genius. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, though the lighting is a bit off (especially on the conical gradient where the two brighter colors should have been switched. Also couldn't get the drop shadow to export properly -- a problem I've had with blur in the past. One thing I did differently from heathenx was use path>union for the drop shadow. I had to unclip the pencil tip to get it to work, which may have been why he did it differenlty on his screencast. What do you think?Image

Looks good! For the drop shadow issue, be sure when exporting that you are exporting the PAGE and not the selection or drawing. Give that a try and see how it works out.
