Hi,
I am very new to inkscape I downloaded this yesterday and I can't seem to get it to show any fonts on the matt.Do have a tutorial for newcomers?As I have never used inkscape before and needed this to be able to make svg files for another software that I am using to cut embellishments for scrapbooking. I run Windows Vista.I download inkscape from their website several times but no luck each time with the font showing up on the matt as I type them in. If you could please help me, I surely would appreciate it.

It's long, but then it needs to be to properly cover everything about inkscape

Whilst your font might not be showing up, it may not mean that it's not there - it may be just invisible. Once you start typing, check the Fill. If it is unset, or transparent then you need to change them to add colour.

I am going to try that . Thank you so much for the information.Hopefully that solves my problem.
