Now, if i convert a bitmap into a Pattern Fill, does that mean im restricted to exporting at 90dpi, to get non pixelated Pattern Fill textures ?

Not sure if that helps (a bit):
You can set the import dpi on import of an image (if you haven't deactivated the dialog, else in the preferences: Edit -> Preferences -> Bitmaps)
The next Inkscape version uses a different default dpi value, though (96 dpi).

Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
