French language is used instead of English on Mac OS

Postby bigsofty » Tue Jul 15, 2008 5:07 am

One specific issue I'm having with a Mac OS 10.4 installation from a standard Sourcefourge download is while the program opens and seems to work fine for some reason the application language is French. I do not use French. I do not know why the the application is running in French. I would like it to run in English. Any idea why this is happening?

I don't know why this should happen, but someone else had this problem, and managed to fix it: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=804#p4147.

Hey, it worked! Thanks!

I have no idea why the system preference for "Order for Sorted Lists" was set to French, or why that would cause Inkscape to display in French, but switching the preference to English fixed things.
