Dear Inkscape Users -

I have generated a drawing in Inkscape but when I try to adjust path curvature by draging handles of nodes, the paths don't change: the handles rotate and extend but its not reflected by change in line shape. If I do move the node, however, it does behave properly and shifts the position of the path. So, it appears that only the handles do not work for some reason. Please advise.
PS: I'm running the latest version of Inkscape (0.48.5) on OS 10.9.4. Just in case, I had reinstalled Inkscape but the problem remains.

Are you sure the path isn't in spiro mode?

If stuck with it you can convert it back to a regular one by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C.

Thank you so much! That was it; I was not familiar with Spiro curves and I must have accidentally selected the mode. I appreciate your insight.

I realize this is an old thread, but the "unresponsive handles" issue has been bugging me for a long time, so I wanted to add my thanks for Lazur's tip about spiro mode! What a relief...
